On Monday, July 30 Kendal will hear an update on the progress being made on the construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge (actually called the Mario Cuomo Bridge after a former governor and the father of our current governor).
Project spokesman Andrew O'Rourke will talk in the Gathering Room at 7:30 pm about progress the builders are making and, perhaps, let us know when it might be finished. It's a big project. Costing $3.09 Billion (that's billion with a B), it crosses the Hudson River 10 minutes south of Kendal.
All are invited to get the inside dope on New York's largest construction project.

New Trip
Despite the hot weather and the desire to sip iced tea and relax, Kendal's Trips Committee continues to be as busy as ever.
A new trip is planned for Wednesday, August 22. This one is to Boscobel in Garrison, NY.
Boscobel is a restored historic home and museum that overlooks the Hudson River and West Point. It is known for its Duncan Phyfe furniture and early 19th Century decorative arts, its lush 68 acre gardens and during the summer, the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival.
Signing up in the Activities Alcove will, as usual, be on a first-come-first-served basis. Our advice is to head down there with pen in hand ASAP.
New Game in Town
Thanks to the generosity of Mary Lou Donarski, an F-14 pinball machine has been donated to Kendal and is available for playing in the Hudson Room.
The machine was a favorite game of her late daughter Amy. Mary Lou was sure Amy would have been happy to share it with all the residents of Kendal.
Players should follow the simple rules posted and not play while a ping-pong game is in progress.
Enjoy the machine. Maybe some day we'll have an F-14 Tomcat contest.
