Age does not prevent Kendal on Hudson residents from having fun. Many enjoy movies, both those shown at Kendal and in neighboring towns. Others visit the numerous museums in New York and surrounding areas with great pleasure. People like seeing the interesting sites in the Hudson Valley area, musical performances, theater, or keeping up with local news. Sports enthusiasts play tennis, Ping-Pong, swim, do curling, biking, and golf putting, as well as hike in nearby parks and trails. Some cheer on their favorite professional teams.
Others enjoy games such as bridge, mah jong, or doing puzzles together. A Shakespeare group reads plays they have selected. Other groups read poetry or stories. Some attend musical performances or plays in New York. Others walk their dogs and play with their cats.
Many also have fun doing things described in other sections of Community Life such as dinner parties in the Kendal dining room, birthday parties, community-wide celebrations, creating art, writing, participating in book clubs, singing or playing music, and more.
