Following up on our recent article about recycling, Deb Wood our Recycling Committee Chair, reported that the Westchester County Recycling Help Line informed her that the paper coffee cups available in the Bistro are recyclable, even though they have a thin plastic lining. Like all other containers, they need to be rinsed clean.
In Westchester County, all recycled material is delivered to a plant in Peekskill that burns everything burnable. Nothing ends up in a landfill.
Deb requests that all residents participate in the recycling program we have at Kendal by being careful and thoughtful about what they place in their garbage and what can be recycled.
