NEW ART WORKSHOP ANNOUNCED
On Fridays, November 15 and 22, 10 am to 12 noon, artist Mark Araujo will be at Kendal for an exciting ceramics workshop focusing on the rich tradition of pre-Colombian cultures.
Make sure to dress for a mess. We will be using raw terra cotta and versa clay.
The first session will be about coil and slab building. At the second we will continue perfecting your masterpiece. Mark is an artist currently working at El Museo del Barrio as an educator and administrator. His own work includes mixed media sculpture, ceramics, welding and metal fabrication, painting and installation art.
Mark is deeply passionate about social justice and community organization and provides free art-making workshops throughout NYC and suburbs.
Exhibitions include SOHO House, Chelsea Film Festival, La Galeria del Barrio and East Village Art View.
