Trips - Available Space

There is space available on two trips sponsored by Kendal’s Trips Committee. They are:

Thurs. Nov. 14, John Jay Homestead, Katonah: Westchester’s only “Founding Father,” John Jay (1745-1829) retired in 1801 to a quiet life as a gentleman farmer on a 750-acre farm in the rural town of Bedford. Period rooms in the 1787 farmhouse have been restored to their appearance in the 1820s and furnished with decorative art and furniture owned by Jay and his family.

Wed. Nov. 20, William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation, Mt. Kisco: Free tour of a fascinating modern and contemporary collection of 3,000 paintings and sculpture by 225+ artists acquired by William Louis-Dreyfus (1932-2016), a billionaire businessman, lawyer, art collector, and poet. Most works are by self-taught (outsider art) and emerging artists unfamiliar to Kendal residents like James Castle and Bill Taylor.

Residents who have not taken this tour before will have priority, but there may be space for repeat visitors.

Sign-up for these two interesting trips is, as usual, in the Trips Book located in the Activities Alcove.
