Efforts for a Dog Park

Through the efforts of Doris Appleby, dog owners at Kendal may soon have a new leash on life (or lack thereof).

In order to apply to the Residents Association for construction of a dog park for the use of KoH dogs only, residents first have to apply to become a committee of the Residents Council. To do this, they need to elect three officers: a Chair, a Secretary to take minutes, and a Treasurer to deal with any financial matters.

If you’re a dog owner and haven’t yet done so, please tour the KoH campus and mark on the maps you’ve been given potentially viable sites for a future dog park. When the weather is good, we might tour together a possible site in the Trail Area across from the cul-de-sac in front of Clermont. We will also review the six other Kendals having dog parks.

A meeting will take place in Doris Appleby’s apartment at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 18. In future, when they are better acquainted, the dogs may be welcome in her apartment—but not just yet, when the humans will have so much to do.
