With help from the Lighthouse Guild, Kendal is planning the establishment of a Low Vision Support Group.

On January 12 Janet Weinstein and Alice Massa of Lighthouse will address those who have interest in this important group.

The meeting will take place at 10 am in the Administrative Conference Room.

New Course

The Education Committee has announced a new course offering for February.

On four Tuesdays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, Prof. Marjorie Miller will lead a seminar on what Confucianism is, how it shapes the thinking of Confucian cultures, and why it is offered as an ideology for Asian states. 

The course will be open to only 15 participants and will take place in the Administrative Conference Room from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. 

Information sheets will be distributed to all at the beginning of January. Early sign-up is strongly suggested. 

Steel Band Concert

The Music Committee's announced  steel band concert will take place in the Gathering Room on Sunday January 7 at 3:00 pm.

The Steel Passion Band of Tarrytown's Christ Episcopal Church will be making a return appearance at Kendal. The band plays "island style" music of the Caribbean plus everything else  including pop, classical and liturgical.

The eight-member group will have everyone tapping their toes. 

All are invited. 

 

Course to be Repeated

Bill McFeely's course based on the Nation article by Steven Hahn, "The Rage of White Folks," will be repeated on four Thursdays, Jan. 4, 11, 18, 25 at  11:15 am in the Residents Association Office. 

The course is limited to 15 participants. A sign-up sheet will be made available on Dec. 28 at the Trips sign-up shelf opposite the Computer Room.
