The ever-working, ever-hustling Trips Committee recently announced a new excursion, this one to the Neue Galerie, New York. The group will explore two exhibitions from the early 20th century: “Franz Marc and August Macke, 1909-1914,” 70 paintings and works on paper by two German painters who were good friends, who with Kandinsky founded Die Blaue Reiter (the Blue Rider) group of German Expressionists, and who died young in World War I; and “Weiner Werkstätte Jewelry” (Vienna Workshops Jewelry),” rare miniature jeweled treasures by leading artists like Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser.
They also announced that there are short wait lists for the Nov. 28 trip to the Hudson River Museum, Yonkers and the Nov. 14 “Do Your Own Thing” trip to the Met Museum.
Sign -up sheets are in the Trips Book in the Activities Alcove.
