All residents who have been long-term riders of the Metro-North commuter trains remember the bad old days. Unheated and dirty cars, very seldom on time, and a non-caring attitude that permeated an unhappy trip to NYC.
Things have changed. A lot of the recent improvements were the results of the leadership of Howard Permut, the now retired President of Metro-North.
Mr. Permut will address us at Kendal on Monday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 pm. He will talk on “The Evolution of Metro-North from worst to best passenger railroad in the world”.
His presentation should be fascinating as Metro-North affects so many of us personally.
