On Monday evening, January 7 at 7:30 pm, Barbara Turk, Vice President of Marketing and Community Development of the Family Y at Tarrytown, will present an overview of the Y’s many contributions to our community.
A non-profit, the Y focuses its efforts on improving the health and wellness of everyone in the community, regardless of their ability to pay.
Through its Strong Kids Community Impact Fund, financial aid totaling more than $400,000 each year is offered for daycare, swim and dance lessons, theater opportunities, after-school care, and fitness memberships. Disabled children and adults in our area have aquatic therapy, physical education and recreation programs. Senior citizens have opportunities to participate in supervised physical fitness programs. Forty-eight men might still be homeless without the Y’s intervention and residential program.
The Y’s charitable efforts and its many services provided to the under-served in our community are unmatched.
Be sure to come January 7 to learn more about this important community resource.
