Special History Lecture - Saturday Afternoon, February 2
Though Washington Irving, the three honest militiamen, and Major John Andre often steal the historical spotlight, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow have been home to many lesser known but equally fascinating individuals.
Residents are invited to attend a special lecture from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 2, given by Sara Mascia, Executive Director of our local Historical Society, and her colleague, Char Weigel. Both Sara and Char have spoken here before on topics of local interest.
This talk, "A Different Take on Local History--The Good, The Bad, and The Unusual," will introduce you to local personalities including "Hulda the Witch," the Leatherman, Minna Irving, and others. A little scandal, a little heart tug, and lots of lighthearted history.
While there is no charge for the lecture, a good-will contribution to the Historical Society, Inc. will be appreciated. Be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday afternoon, Feb. 2.
