Election Day - November 5, 2019

Election Day 2019.png

Local elections will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at our usual polling place Phillipsburg Manor. Three or four van trips will be made during the day, so check at the front desk to see what times our intrepid drivers, Richard and Eamon, will be chauffeuring. A sign-up sheet will be at the desk.

If you are planning to drive your own car, please ask friends and neighbors who don’t drive, if you can offer a lift. These elections are important because they determine what gets funded and by how much at the local level (see the road in and out of Kendal).

We reside in the Town of Mt. Pleasant. This election includes races for Town of Mt. Pleasant Supervisor, two members of the Town Council, Town Clerk, Town Justice and Superintendent of Highways. We also vote for a County Legislator, and judges of the (New York State)Supreme Court, County Court, and County Family Court.

Don’t forget to turn over your ballot to vote on a proposition to change the election of Superintendent of Highways to an appointed position in the future.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization, has provided vote guides which can be found by the mailboxes or the front desk and which will help you make an educated choice.
