When residents desire to see a movie, there are, of course, films shown in the Gathering Room on nights when there is not a lecture or a concert. However, if they wish to watch one in their apartments, they can do so by tuning into Kendal’s In-House Television Channel 1970.
At 8:00 pm there is either the movie they missed the evening before or an oldie they would love to see again. During the afternoon, Channel 1970 also carries some of the lectures and concerts from previous weeks.
What sort of things will residents see? The lineup for this coming week follows:
3:00 pm “The Underground Railroad in Westchester County,” a presentation by retired Pace Professor Dorothee Greenberg.
4:30 pm The Kennedys in Concert
Movies at 8:00 pm:
Mon: Judy Garland: The Concert (1985, 85 min). Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand.
Tue: Prizzi's Honor (1985, 130 min). Jack Nicholson, Kathleen Turner. Crime, comedy.
Wed: All About My Mother (1999, 105 min). Celia Roth. Drama. Directed by Almodovar
Thurs: Band of Outsiders (1964, 95 min). Ana Karina. Comedy, crime, drama. Directed by Godard.
Fri: Where'd You Go, Bernadette (2019, 109 min). Cate Blanchette, Kristin Wiig. Comedy, drama, mystery.
Sat: Gosford Park (2001, 138 min) Maggie Smith. Crime, drama.
Sun: Catherine the Great (2006, 120 min) PBS documentary.
I think you’ll agree. Lots to do and see here at Kendal.
