The Trips Committee announced a new Trip to take place on Wednesday, January 22, to the Hudson River Museum, Yonkers. You will have your choice of exhibitions: Thomas Cole’s paintings of Catskill Creek; James McElhinney’s “Discover the Hudson River Anew” with his mini sketchbooks and prints; Janelle Lynch’s color photographs of nature; and “Self in the City,” paintings of the increasingly industrialized city from the late 19th to late 20th centuries.

Wednesday, January 8, the New York Historical Society, New York where there are four exhibitions to explore: “Beyond Midnight: Paul Revere”; “Mark Twain and the Holy Land”; “Artist in Exile: The Visual Diary of Baroness Hyde de Neuville (1771-1849)”; and “Holiday Express” train show.
Wednesday, January 15, the Katonah Museum of Art, Katonah: “Sparkling Amazons,” docent tour of works by women Abstract Expressionist artists in the 1940s and 1950s who exhibited at the Ninth Street Show of New York avant-garde artists in May 1951: Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, Elaine de Kooning, Helen Frankenthaler, and others.
