Lecture: Life of a Ballerina

On Monday, April 15 at 7:30 pm, Kendal will be fortunate to hear from Bettijane Sills, an American ballerina who will talk about her career in the Ballet world.

Ms. Sills danced with both George Ballanchine and Jerome Robbins. In 1961 she was invited by Ballanchine to join the NYC Ballet. She was promoted to soloist in 1963 and danced principal roles in many works.

Since 1979 she has served on the Conservatory of dance faculty at Purchase College where she is currently a tenured professor.

Ms. Sills has now written her autobiography , Bettijane Sills Broadway, Ballanchine and Beyond: A Memoir.

Residents are invited to hear her life story. It should be fascinating.
