New Trips Announced

The Energizer Bunny of Kendal committees, the Trips Committee announced two new exciting excursions.

On Thursday , Aug 22, participants will visit the Jewish Museum in New York showing “Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything” (1934-2016), an exhibition of the imagination and legacy of the world-renowned Montreal singer/songwriter, poet and novelist through commissioned works by international contemporary artists inspired by him, a video projection showcasing Cohen’s drawings, and an innovative multimedia gallery where visitors can hear Cohen’s songs by musicians such as Lou Doillon, Feist and Moby; also “Scenes from the Collection,” a rotating themed show of 600 works from antiquities to contemporary art forming a unique mix of artworks and ceremonial objects, many of which are being shown for the first time.

On Wednesday, Sept 11, a group will sail on a Hudson River Cruise aboard the Pride of the Hudson. The group will leave from Newburgh in the afternoon for a two-hour cruise on the majestic Hudson through the narrow and scenic Hudson Highlands with narration by the captain. The 130-passenger vessel has a spacious sundeck and climate-controlled main salon with huge wrap-around windows.

Sights en route are Washington’s Headquarters, Mount Beacon, Bannerman’s Island, Cold Spring, Constitution Island, Storm King Mountain, Breakneck Mountain and West Point.
