As many know, Kendal on Hudson contains one of the most active groups of retirees in the nation. Have a look below and you will get a good idea of what goes on in this whirlwind of a community.

The Health and Wellness Committee meeting on Friday, July 12, is open to all. Lisa Wacht, Health Services Administrator, will bring us up-to-date and help us plan future activities, 10 am, RAO on C level. Dot Bone is chairperson.

 Sing Along on Wednesday, July 17: “Sing and Swing with Sue,” a program of songs of the Forties led by the incomparable Sue Anderson. Don’t miss it! It takes place in the Residents Lounge at 5:00 pm. Bob Singleton chairs.

 The Dining Room Advisory Committee reminds residents of the 6/28/2019 memo from Fred Coppola, Director of Dining, that nutritional values for lunch and dinner entrees were added on the menu effective July 1. Margo Berger chairs the group.

 The Recycling Committee reports that new pictorial signs have been posted in all KoH trash rooms, and hooks for plastic bags were added where needed. Residents are requested to deposit only clean paper, clean recyclable glass, metal and plastics, and bagged trash in the respective bins. We are grateful to Food Services for providing bins for recyclable plastic glasses and cups in the Residents Lounge. A bin for recyclable plastics is also available in the PDR during special functions. Let’s all pitch in and do your share to reduce the flow of plastics to landfills, waterways and incinerators!

 Residents who wish to donate women’s and men’s clothing and other textiles in good condition are urged to bring their donations to the Residents Association meeting on July 22 at 7:30 pm in the Gathering Room.
