Written at the height of Shakespeare’s powers, Hamlet is arguably the greatest play in the English language. It has everything - a ghost, murder, adultery, comedy, philosophy, a duel - in short, something for everyone. It also has the most complex character in all of Shakespeare’s plays.
Once again, on Thursdays (Sept. 5, 12, 19, 26, and Oct. 3, 10) from 1:30 to 3:00 pm in the Private Dining Room, our own Jerry Tanklow will lead a new course, “Hamlet in Six Sessions”. The class will be limited to 15 participants. To enroll, sign up in the notebook on the Activities Alcove shelf.
Participants will need a copy of the play. Recommended: the Folger edition, available for about $6 (through Amazon or your local bookstore); it has notes on the opposite page of the text.
