Poetry in the Age of Trump

On Monday August 5 at 7:30 pm in the Gathering Room, resident Llyn Clague will speak about how he writes poetry and how his inspirations arise, reading from his own work. His talk will be on “Poetry in the Age of Trump”.

He will examine painting and poetry and, finally, political and social poetry in our highly tribalized world today.

Llyn and wife Alice moved to Kendal in April 2019. A writer all his life, Llyn has concentrated in the last 20 years on poetry, publishing eight books and some 300 poems in literary journals. His poems have appeared in Main Street Rag, New York Quarterly, Ibbetson Street, Wisconsin Review, and other magazines.

This presentation will, of course, be fascinating and bring us up to date on an important art form in today’s world. It will also give residents an opportunity to hear from one of our own and get to know him and what makes him tick, poetically that is.
