Kendal Residents Council Election

While much of America is nervously awaiting the national election in 2020, the residents at Kendal on Hudson have their own election for their Council which is sending them to their medicine chests for bottles of tranquilizer medication. The excitement is already building.

Residents have recently received the bios of the 16 candidates for the Residents Council. Yes! There are 16 candidates for 6 seats that will be open on the 13 member Council.

Candidates Night will be held at 7:30 pm on Monday, September 16. Voting will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, September 18 and 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Residents Lounge. If residents expect to be away on those dates, they should request an absentee ballot from Ellen Ottstadt and be sure to return it by September 19.

While it is felt to be in bad taste for candidates to hire campaign managers, and efforts are being made to keep CNN, MSNBC and Fox away from daily reporting on the pre-election discussion, the excitement at KoH is building. Without question, the actions of the Resident Council have more direct impact on the lives of Kendal residents than does what goes on in Washington. In addition, candidates who do not tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth can be personally confronted and stand not to be invited to dinners in the Formal Dining Room. That is severe punishment.
