Making Sense of the Census

census 2.jpg

In the last ten days, you should have received two or more letters from the US Census Bureau inviting you to provide data about your household for the 2020 census.

You can respond online at my2020census.gov. or by telephone at 844-330-2020.

To respond, you will need the Census ID number provided in the letter (in a box in the middle of the notice you received). A note of clarification: If you receive two census invitations, each with a different 12 digit census ID, pick the invitation where the address most closely matches your correct mailing address. Use that 12 digit ID and discard the other invitation (reply only one time). Don’t worry if you already answered on the other address or replied twice; the census can sort this out later.

If you call (English 844-330-2020; Spanish 844-468-2020; TDD 844-467-2020) or go online (www.my2020census.gov), you can also enter your address directly. The census will allow you to file without requiring you to enter the 12 digit census ID (your census ID will be linked by the computer system in the background).

If you have questions, feel free to call Annette Leyden or Alice Clague.
