On Monday evening, November 22, 7:30 pm, Kendal will welcome Eileen Egan, Executive Director, Phelps Hospital/Northwell Health for a lecture. It will take place in the Gathering Room.
Will the lessons of COVID make us more prepared, and our health care system more adept for the next global challenge? Ms. Egan will discuss the aftermath of the COVID pandemic and how it has impacted everything, particularly the delivery of health care.
Before assuming her current position in June 2020, Ms. Egan served as vice president of administration, where she oversaw many departments. She initially joined Phelps in 1981 as a charge nurse in the Intensive Care/Critical Care and Medical/Surgical Units. She later spent 13 years in the Emergency Department before leaving to pursue a career in law.
Ms. Egan is the recipient of the Phelps Star Award for outstanding service, commitment and attitude, and was nominated for Nurse of Distinction at Phelps and Emergency Nurse of the Year in Westchester County. She is a certified emergency nurse (CEN) and certified in pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
Holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of New Rochelle, Ms. Egan received her Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law.
