December 1, Nancy Gibbs—Edward R. Murrow Professor of Practice of Press, Politics and Public Policy, and Director of the Shorenstein Center at the Harvard Kennedy School—returned to Kendal for another stimulating lecture, this time about “What Did We Learn from THIS Election?”
Poet-n-residence Llyn Clague provide an evening of evocative and thought-provoking poetry from his latest book of same: “Old White Guy Poet Blues: A Sort-of-Song Cycle in 5 Parts.”
Karina Rengeisen (left), Bjorn Olsson (center), and Anissa Rybak (right), from the Tarrytown Music Hall, came to delve into the fascinating history of the Tarrytown Music Hall, a treasured landmark in our community and the oldest theater in Westchester County.
Kendal’s own Professor Nicholas Robinson delved into current and future court actions aimed at enforcing laws to protect our climate and preserve life on Earth.
On October 21, Hadrien Coumans, Deputy Director and Co-founder of the Lenape Center, shared his insights on the meaning of Lenapehoking and the rich history of the Lenape People.
October 14, Activist Liz Schutt (right) and Activist/Pediatrician Nancy Dodson (left) presented a compelling discussion about the gun industry’s role in the epidemic of gun violence and the Guns to Gardens movement as a Quaker response.

On September 30, actor Charlie Scatamacchia, pianist Sue Anderson (left), and vocalist Bonnie Rapp (right) celebrated the legendary Richard Rodg3rs and Oscar Hammerstein II, revolutionaries in musical theater.
Monday, September 23, Dr. Robert Paxton presented a vivid look at the policies and practices of the Vichy government during WWII.
Monday, September 16, Pace University’s Dr. Sophia Johnson discussed market reform and its impact on economic governance and policy options for India.
Carol Capobianco, Director, The Native Plant Center, joined us, on August 19, to discuss Westchester Community College Foundation’s program, founded in 1998 as the first affiliate of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Austin, TX.
