No one can say that Kendal residents are politically uninvolved. They are already thinking about next year’s election.
2019 has been a confusing, dizzying year for elections. 2020 won't be as bad, but here is a heads-up: we will have a Village election, with voting right here at Kendal; then the Democratic primary in April; probably no Republican primary this year, but we shall see; and a Westchester County primary in the spring.
Finally, in November 2020, the national election in which we select a President and a replacement for retiring Congresswoman Nita Lowey.
This early announcement is to suggest that those residents who will find it hard to get to the polls at Phillipsburg Manor, instead register for a permanent absentee ballot. Then, prior to each election, you will receive a paper ballot to fill in and return. You won't have to travel to Phillipsburg Manor.
We have the forms, just ask us. What if you send in your absentee ballot and then forget that you sent it? You can't vote twice, so if you then go to the polls, you will be asked if you wish to void the absentee ballot and cast a vote at the polling station.
If there are questions, please speak to Martin Smolin, Annette Leyden, or Sue Phillips.
