Kendal's Annual Appeal Drive

Every year Kendal has an Annual Appeal Drive. Part of the funding is donated to local charities. So, a good question is: Where Do Our Philanthropic $$$ Go?

On Monday, February 10, the Council's Local Charities Committee hosts a special meeting at 7:30 pm in the Gathering Room. Leaders of three local organizations will tell us about the work they do to fill the needs and provide enrichment opportunities for local citizens.

Appearing will be: Maribel Palacios and Rocio Castenada of AFHT (Asociacion de Familias Hispanas de los Tarrytowns), Rachelle Gebler of the Community Food Pantry, and Maureen Petry of Warner Library.

All residents are invited to come and hear first-hand accounts of the important impact residents' generous contributions to the Residents Council Annual Appeal are making in our local community.

A MESSAGE FOR ALL RESIDENTS

The KoH Residents Association Annual Appeal needs the help of ALL residents to keep us active for one more year. Your recommended contribution, $200 per person or $400 per couple, is tax-deductible. This one’s for us. Unlike most CCRCs, Kendal on Hudson has no Activities Director. Instead, all the activities we enjoy here happen through the Residents Association – our weekly Spotlight, nightly movies, weekly lectures and frequent courses by outstanding experts, concerts by fine musicians, art lessons and year-round art exhibits, our lively Residents Website, Kendal View magazine and KOH-TV, wine and cheese socials, special celebrations, a wide variety of clubs, an amazing 24/7 Library, the Chorale and Bell Ringers, ping pong, a Residents Council responding to our concerns. In other words, your annual gift pays for the fulfillment of our emotional and intellectual needs here at Kendal. A portion of your donation goes to local organizations, including the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department and Ambulance Corps, Warner Library, Rockwood Hall, and other groups serving children and families in our community. If you’ve already contributed, your fellow and sister residents thank you. If you haven’t pitched in yet, please place your check, payable to KoH Residents Association, in the box at the front desk by mid February . Please write “Annual Appeal” on the memo line. Thank you!
