Dinner Deliveries and Recycling

Dinner Delivery 2.png

In keeping with good common sense and the rules against people congregating these days, Dinner plus a lunch sandwich is being delivered to every Kendal resident in independent living apartments.

Residents fill out a weekly menu and with great efficiency, late in the afternoon, a two-handled bag appears outside their door with each ordered item enclosed in a plastic container. The quality of the cuisine, always a great plus at Kendal, remains constant at a Five-Star level.

You may ask, “What do people do with the bags and plastic containers?” The Recycling Committee, never one to let a recycling possibility go by without comment, suggested:

During this time of increased use of plastic containers, we implore you to clean them properly, leave them open and nest them to reduce bulk, or reuse them if possible. The two container halves can be cut apart easily with kitchen scissors for an even tighter nest.

Use the paper bag in which your meal was delivered to store clean recyclables temporarily in your kitchen if the recycling bin in your trash room is full.
