Kendal residents are voracious readers. The wonderful group that makes up the Library Committee works hard to keep them provided with suitable reading matter. They want to remind residents about Paperback Carousels.

If you saw the Carousels being weeded recently, you may be interested to know more about this amenity provided by the Library Committee. There may be more to it than you realized.

There is a Carousel, with a mix of fiction (green dot), non-fiction (yellow dot) and mystery (red dot), in every building.

Borrow and return at your convenience.

Donated paperbacks are added to the Carousels throughout the year, overseen by Lynn Brady and maintained by volunteers; then once every year the Carousels are weeded to make room for new titles.

Do not despair, books are not being discarded. They are going to a better world…in fact, to Better World Books (betterworldbooks.com), a secondhand bookseller that supports literacy efforts around the world and pays us a token amount for our donations.

We are pleased to be facilitating this honorable life cycle for Kendal Carousel paperbacks.
