The Trips Committee under the leadership of Jan Myers announced a new excursion set for Wednesday, July 21 to Stonecrop Gardens, Cold Spring.
The group will explore a series of display gardens and a conservatory on 12 acres in the Hudson Highlands. Originally the home of Frank Cabot, founder of the Garden Conservancy, it became a public garden in 1992.
The diverse of gardens range from an enclosed English-style flower garden and perennial gardens to water gardens, a grass garden, a rock garden on a cliff, and an alpine stone garden. Some plants are for sale.
Examine the picture closely. It’s not what you think at first glance.
Lunch will be at a nearby restaurant.
N.B. To coordinate with Spotlight, sign-up sheets are usually put in the Trips Book in the Activities Alcove on Fridays, though not always. The wait list is open until the day of departure.
