Channel 970, Kendal’s In-House TV station, announced a new series, “Guide to Essential Italy” which starts Sunday, July 18, from 3 pm to 4 pm.

Having completed our travels to Ireland/Northern Ireland and France, we head south. In this 36-lecture series, we will visit three of the most important, engaging, and romantic Italian cities: Rome, Florence, and Venice. Side trips will include Pompeii, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Siena, and San Gimignano.

Course leader is Kenneth R. Bartlett, Ph.D, Professor of History, University of Toronto. Author of numerous books on the Italian Renaissance, Dr. Bartlett has devoted much of his career to bringing Italian culture and history into the undergraduate and graduate classroom.

From 3 pm to 4 pm each Saturday and Sunday, starting Sunday, July 18, two half-hour lectures will be presented on Channel 970. Note: On Sundays when jazz concerts are held, the programs will start at 2 pm. This joint project of the Education Committee and Channel 970 is offered as a way to bring interesting weekend programs to residents. We hope you enjoy it.
