Kendal announced that beginning February 2, there will be new Drawing & Painting Classes held in the Art Room on Wednesdays from 3 pm-5 pm.
In response to last June’s resident survey, the Art Committee, with support from the Residents Association, is sponsoring a six-month series of classes with professional art teacher Janice Noto-Helmers.
Janice is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design/New School and has been a successful book and graphic designer for many years. She currently teaches art at The Osborn.
The classes will progress through drawing fundamentals to painting and other media, but each class will be a self-contained experience.
Sessions are stand-alone as each will be a complete class. The first class will explore fundamentals using a variety of materials; participants will enjoy learning sketching techniques for drawing geometric shapes in still-life setups.
Sign-up is required for each weekly session to ensure that many will have the chance to participate.
