There will be a change in Kendal’s January 22 Saturday Opera Program.
The length of Der Rosenkavalier requires screening in two sessions. Therefore, the screening is postponed to a later weekend when the Gathering Room is also available on a Sunday.
Instead, Verdi’s Rigoletto will be shown in the Gathering Room at 1 pm. The principal roles are sung by Cornell MacNeil, Placido Domingo and Ileana Jones in a 1977 performance at the Metropolitan Opera.
On Saturday, January 29, at 1 pm we will again offer lighter fare, a filmed production of Der Zigeunerbaron (The Gypsy Baron) by Johann Strauss with Siegfried Jerusalem, Wolfgang Brendel, Ivan Rebroff, Martha Mödl, Ellen Shade and Janet Perry, and the radio symphony orchestra of Stuttgart.
Masks are required.
