Kendal New Year’s Eve will take place on the evening of Thursday, March 24! It is the long-awaited date for Kendal’s festive celebration.
According to Social Events chair Muriel Fox, the committee will “pull out all stops” to make the postponed event worth waiting for.
Dining Director Fred Coppola will produce a special dinner; a Big Show will take place at 8 pm in the Gathering Room; a festive Reception will follow the show, and a Singalong of old-time songs will end the evening in the Private Dining Room.
Sally Costa and Sharry Lukach, co-chairs of the Champagne and Caviar Reception, advise us to wear our finest evening attire, with black tie optional. Additional volunteers will be welcome, to help provide decorations and refreshments.
Muriel points out that March 24 falls in the week of the Spring Equinox, which is celebrated as New Year’s Day in many countries.
She says the show will open with a video reprise of our famous Men’s Water Ballet, and will include songs by the Kendal Singers led by Bob Singleton, plus humorous acts by talented residents. “We’ll count down the lowering of our Glittering Ball and shout ‘Happy New Year’ at Kendal Midnight – which is 9 pm.”
All residents will receive packets of “Kendal 2022” M&Ms, donated by the Rapaports.
