TRIPS COMMITTEE

The mission of the Trips Committee is to provide access to the rich cultural life, heritage and beauty of New York City and the Hudson Valley region.

The Trips Committee plans and arranges 40 day trips year-round to New York City and the tri-state metro area, Westchester County and the Hudson River Valley for Independent Living residents.  Focusing primarily on the cultural interests of Kendal residents, trips include museums, music and theater performances, historic houses, gardens and restaurants.  The most popular individual trips are New York City “Do Your Own Thing” with drop off at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Met Opera HD Live matinees and the most popular category is museums.

See the Calendar of Events and the current issue of Spotlight for coming trips.  The committee’s goal is to plan trips that appeal to a range of interests and activity levels. Both Kendal vans can accommodate two wheelchairs and most trip destinations are wheelchair accessible.

Contact Chair Jan Myers for more information or to join the committee.
